Can you walk to Disney Springs from the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress?

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a reasonably priced resort right on the edge of Disney property. We were able to get an excellent deal for a four-night stay through Hotels.com, and we enjoyed our time there. But while they provide shuttle transportation for all of the theme parks and Disney Springs, those only run at a few specific times which didn’t align to when we wanted to go.

The shuttles to Disney Springs depart at 4 pm, 6 pm, and 8 pm, and return at 6:30 pm, 8:30 pm, and 10 pm. If you want to go at any other time, you’re on your own for transportation. Rather than spending $15-$25 each way for a 2-mile cab or rideshare, we gave walking a try.

If you are comfortable walking about two miles in the Florida sun, it’s very doable. There’s sidewalk the entire way, and despite the “beware of snakes and alligators” signs, there was never a time that I felt unsafe.

Walk from the Hyatt up Grand Cypress Blvd and take a right on Winter Garden Vineland Rd. You’ll pass Qdoba and a Shell station, then turn right on S Apopka Vineland Rd. Don’t cross Apopka Vineland; stay on the right side. Take this up to Hotel Plaza Blvd where you’ll see the “Welcome to Walt Disney World Resort” sign, a great spot for selfies.

Walking along Hotel Plaza Blvd will be the longest stretch, passing several (more expensive) resorts along the way. Once you hit the crosswalk over E Buena Vista Dr, you’re there!
